Hello everyone. I would like to start off by saying that anything that may be in this post is subject to change in a moments notice. If said changes happen, it will be added into this post at the very top. Now that we established that, let's get down to business.
Scorch Gamez was scheduled to go live many, many times. I have maybe postponed it 3 times. I don't want to justify anything, or create excuses, but I will tell you why this is. The short answer is - my schedule is constantly being filled with things. Recently - I was able to find the time to do some work, and I made some decisions (As stated in the beginning of this post, these decisions have not been finalized).
One of my main goals for this gaming network was to offer something for everyone, may it be a hardcore survival gamemode, or vanilla creative. An issue with that though is hosting. Our bill comes to roughly $86 a month. We pay to maintain the following things:
- Website domain & hosting
- Dedicated server from OVH
- Dynamic Multicraft License (Makes server deployment very easy, also offers benefits to our system administrators)
With that in mind, we need to make sure we are making good use of that budget. We're a network with an extremely limited playerbase. I have not taken the proper steps to advertise this network or any of the games it offers. I wanted to make sure that the majority of our content was stable before doing so, which is something that to this day, still has not happened. So what now?
Well, after some consideration - I will continue to pay our monthly bill, and pay for advertising. I will be looking to take on additional developers who specialize in Java, and a few other languages (I am not expecting any developer we may hire to posses all the skills required) to help continue the development of this network.
I have been spending far too much time working on UHC. Although, it is nearly fully completed. I will be expecting the staff team to be fully self-sufficient. Meaning - I would like them to be able to function without me. I have been in the process of training some of the higher-ups, so that when the time comes, they will be able to take on new staff by themselves.Job openings
We have some positions open, that we would like to fill up as soon as possible.
First off, we are in need of some builds. That is a very high priority. I will be adding a Google Docs link on here later, so that anyone interested can message me regarding pricing and other details.
Moderators - we are not in need of moderators right now, but it would be nice to receive some applications from perspective players for when the time comes. The application is very self explanatory, and should not take longer than 15-20 minutes to complete. You should not expect any replies to your application any time soon (unless some of our staff take an interest in you). Conclusion
Thank you everyone for reading this post today, and I hope you all found it informative and enlightening. I'm going to remain as optimistic as possible, as I hope it will increase productivity or something like that.
Feel free to comment any questions or concerns.
